A surprise when I walked outside one morning this past week; my beautiful purple flowers bloomed! All summer I looked at this plant with its straight, short green leaves and struggled to remember what it would look like later in the summer. Finally, in a burst of late summer energy, it became purple flowers!
Who could not love this face?

I am reading this VERY late, but had to comment on the title. The 10th of October is my dad's birthday and I said to him how cool it was that his day was on 10/10/10 and how it wouldn't happen again for another 10 years. His comment was something to the effect of not being around for that. He is, after all, 82 but still...
